Congratulations to both the graduates and the members present. Both of which have done this institution, and more importantly this country, proud. This year, both the recognition of Chartered Marketers and the graduating of the Chartered Institute of Marketing graduates are celebrated within one momentous occasion. A rarity in practice but apt in motivation.

All these years of being Patron to The Malaysian Association of The Chartered Institute of Marketing (MACIM) has given me an insight to the integral nature of marketing in the growth of commercial strength. Marketing is the engine that drives the economy. The medium of which global recognition is attained. This is especially essential when AFTA is regionally effected. To stay competitive you must convey your competitive edge in clear audibility. This is the Marketer's entrusted task, given to them by the whole nation.

Information Technology has eradicated borders, created bridges and made the world a lot smaller. As markets integrate via current technological advancements, choices become wider and buying cost becomes negligible. This creates a conducive environment for expanding markets and different business modules to thrive within a flourishing economy. Based on track record illustrated by this organization, I believe that Malaysia is well on its way to become a significant player in the global market.
